Iran Says Strait of Hormuz Will Open Only on Its Terms: Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf said on Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened not on the basis of U.S. threats but on Iran’s terms.
According to Press TV, Ghalibaf said, “The United States still has not learned that bullying and breaking commitments now carries a price. Let me be clear: if you attack, you will face a retaliatory attack. Do not engage in pointless conflict; it will only plunge you into a deeper crisis. The Strait of Hormuz will open only under the Iranian system, not because of U.S. threats.”

Earlier, Iranian media reported explosions on Abu Musa island in the Persian Gulf and in the Iranian cities of Iranshahr, Chabahar, Konarak, Sirik, Jask, and Bandar Abbas. Mehr news agency reported that air defense forces in Bandar Abbas fired at U.S. targets in the city’s skies.
The U.S. military carried out multiple strikes on Iran on Wednesday. U.S. Central Command said the action responded to Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. President Donald Trump later said that the ceasefire was no longer effective.
Iran said it carried out retaliatory strikes on U.S. military positions in Bahrain and Kuwait, accusing the United States of violating the memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

Al Mayadeen TV reported that explosions were heard in Bahrain amid warnings of air strikes. Bahrain’s Interior Ministry wrote on the social platform X, “Sirens have been sounded. Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and proceed to the nearest safe location.”
